My studio’s name often makes people pause, Ogiziu, pronounced “oh-gee-zyoo”.
In a world where names, logos and even voices are designed for speed and simplicity, I wanted to keep some mystery, a word with edges and roots. Sometimes names don’t come from strategy or logic, they arrive as a feeling. Ogiziu came to me just like that, out of rhythm. Out of breath and forest air. Out of a walk between movement and stillness.
Here’s the story behind Ogiziu and what it says about how we work.
The moment of wonder
I remember that afternoon clearly. My head was full after leading workshops, after days of creative intensity. I went to the forest to rest, to breathe.
I live and work on the edge between city and nature. To reach the river, I first climb a hill and then walk down through winding forest paths. That day I kept looping up and down, waiting for my thoughts to quiet. Little by little, the forest began to do its work. The air cooled my mind. The rhythm of my steps slowed my thinking. And somewhere between motion and stillness, a word surfaced:
Ogiziu.
It felt as if the word had found me, not the other way around. A sound born from a pause. A whisper that held meaning before I even knew what it meant.
A name that invites you to pause
Ogiziu isn’t an easy word. People often hesitate when they try to pronounce it. I like that. That small hesitation, that moment of not knowing, is where creativity begins.
A creative insight to me often comes from slowing down. From listening. From conversation. From that quiet moment when you start to see things differently.
That’s what “Ogiziu” reminds me of: to pause before acting, to look closer, to let meaning reveal itself.
Meaning that grows from process
Later, I realised that the word itself mirrors the creative process I guide my clients through.
“Ogiziu” comes from two Lithuanian roots: “ogi”, meaning look or see there, and “žiūriu”, meaning I’m looking. Together, they hold the rhythm of noticing and doing, of awareness that leads to creation.
It’s the same flow that happens in my work: when clients come with scattered ideas, we pause together, listen, and slowly the essence emerges. From reflection to action, from fragments to form.

For me, “Ogiziu” is a reminder that a website isn’t just a set of pages or visuals. It’s a story made visible: a process of turning ideas into something that can be felt and understood.
Every project at Ogiziu Studio begins the same way that name did: with stillness, with listening, with an aha that connects the dots into a whole.
